Seminole Canyon State Park campsites book through ReserveAmerica on a five-month window that opens at 8 a.m. Central. The park publishes 46 total sites in Comstock, about 4 hours from Austin, and a $4 entrance fee. Camp.land does not run alerts for Texas parks. This guide covers the window, the site types, and what to do when your date is already sold out.
The park sits on the rim of a canyon above the Rio Grande and Pecos River confluence and protects pictographs dating back over 4,000 years. Guided canyon tours take you to Fate Bell Shelter. You cannot enter without a guide. Tours run Wednesday through Sunday. Check the schedule and reserve ahead. The Seminole Canyon Trail is 6 miles. Dark-sky stargazing is a highlight.

Families at Seminole Canyon State Park should book an electric-and-water site first. Those have shade shelters, fire rings, and restrooms with showers nearby. Larger rigs should target a 50-amp water-and-electric site in the Desert Vista area. Primitive drive-up sites offer the most solitude.
Seminole Canyon State Park does not list park-owned cabins. Combine a stay with Amistad National Recreation Area, about 30 minutes east, if you want a second stop. Summer temperatures can exceed 110 F. Bring lots of water.
