Entrance is $7/person. Fall is the local's pick - warm water, fewer crowds.
Book Galveston if you want the shorter drive from Houston, bay-side paddling, and more electric tiers to choose between - the $20 water-and-electric row is the value pick. Book Mustang Island if you want dune-back beach camping near Port Aransas restaurants and fishing; half its sites are cheap primitive drive-up at $13, so a no-hookup weekend is realistic even close to the window.
